=====================================

The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is a very important organization in Ireland. It promotes traditional Irish sports. The two most famous are Hurling and Gaelic Football.

Hurling is similar to hockey, except it's played on a grass field: players must use a wooden stick to hit a ball into another team's goal. The stick is called a hurley, and the ball is called a sliotar (sli-tur).

Camogie is the same as hurling, except it’s only played by women.

Gaelic football is similar to soccer, except players are allowed to pick up the ball. Just like in soccer, players get goals by kicking the ball into the other team's goal. Men and women can play Gaelic football.

Can you think of any traditional Japanese sports?
