Myanmar has many beautiful and exciting festivals. One of the most famous is Thingyan, the New Year water festival in April. At this time, schools and offices are closed for many days. During this hot season, people splash water on each other because they believe it washes away bad luck from the past year.
Also you can see beautiful golden Padauk flowers everywhere in the town.
People enjoy dancing in the streets to lively music and sharing traditional sweets with their neighbors. It is also an important time to visit temples and pay respect to elders.
